Raffaele De Vita: “Di Canio sacked? I was shocked!”

Raffaele-De-VitaRaffaele De Vita is an Italian midfielder playing for Bradford City. Born in Rome in 1987, he was with Di Canio when Paolo was the trainer of Swindon Town between 2011 and 2013.

He knows Paolo very well I contacted him after the news of the sacking of Di Canio from Sunderland.

“When I heard the news, I was a bit shocked. – tells De Vita – But  firing after only five matches can’t depend on scores!”

What could have caused his firing?
“Maybe there were some unhappy players so that management decided to change immediately”.

What do you think about Paolo Di Canio as a coach?
“It’s a shame he was sacked. It’s not easy for players to understand Paolo Di Canio, but when everyone follows him he is able to do great things. Unfortunately in Premier League players have another depth compared with the ones he trained in League One at Swindown Town. Maybe they didn’t appreciate Paolo’s unusual ways of behaving”.
